Moon, Sky and Stars - Simply Magical
They say that tides occur because the mighty oceans are being pulled by moon's gravity. Absolutely true. Well it not the only thing moon pulls. It has pulled me towards it. Amazing it is.
The past 6 days have been like i'm in a wonderland. Absolutely clear skies and eqaully amazing big, bright and beautiful moon. The pic above was taken by me from just outside my guitar class.
Since I was a kid I've had this strange fascination towards the sky. Especially the night sky(no one likes to stare at the sun during the day). I still remember the days when power cuts were very frequent and we used to sleep on the terrace. Me and my dad. And he used to show me all the tiny stars, big stars, bright stars and yes the most important of then The Pole Star. He even used to show me the satellites orbitting the earth and I never used to believe that they were satellites. Next morning in the school I promptly used to tell all my friends that I saw a shooting star and that too for a very long time('cause the satellites move at incredibily slow speed).
Our city is not lit very brightly during the nights and you can see a lot of stars. Go out from the city by around 5 kms or so and u'll be in heaven. Pitch black and great views. Especially if u're near one of the many lakes around.
Even today whenever I travel via a bus/train I just stare out towards the sky. I never ceases to amaze me. And then all the memories come back. Good, bad and all kinds of. No wonder most of my fav movies have the same theme. Star Wars, Apollo 13, Armaggedon, Titan AE(it was a cartoon flick).
Was listening to the song "Socha Na Tha" today morning. Absolutely love these lines

And i too have always had a fascination for the nightsky. The stars and the moon try and tell you a little story, as you creep into slumber and dreamland. Its a gratifying feeling.

Figo Moron. Every great person/ogre/lion becomes a star. Remember "The Lion King". Mufasa tell Simba that all the great lions die and become stars. So shutttt up. :P :P

on the day of Gurunanak Jayanthi it was a Full Moon and boy! was it stupendous or what
n it did continue to remain that way even on the next day!
though i do not tend to watch the sky that often I do appreciate shooting stars and a Full Moon day
If you wanna assume that its a man, then BY ALL MEANS do so! BUT i would like to believe that its a ldy.
After all, its only on a woman's lap does a child look that serene and beautiful! :p
Swathi Just imagine if the full moon was on 14th. The view from "Zafaraan Exotica" would have been too too amazing.
Medha I am not assuming it to be a man. Am just saying that its all ur dreams and fantasies. I still prefer to imagine and view the craters like craters and not some "lady with a kid that looks serene and beautiful". :P :P :P

You know when you look at the stars, and you can see ANY shape or any goddam thing you want to???? Isnt that letting your imagination run wild??? Yes that is my dear!!
And hey, at least 70% of the people are gonna tell you that they can see a lady with a child, when they look at the moon. Because of that black patch that is on the moon. Its shaped in such a way that it looks like as if a lady is sitting down, with a child on her lap!
